New attack kills one at Riyadh airport as Iran rejects US peace plan

Diplomatic efforts to end the war stalled after Iran described the US peace proposal as "inadequate," even as fresh violence struck Saudi Arabia and threatened shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf.

Mohsen Rezaei, Iran's security chief, confirmed that Washington accepted some of Tehran's seven conditions for a ceasefire but rejected the overall response. Hours later, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to offer Tehran's help in brokering direct talks between Riyadh and Yemen's Houthis.

Security concerns dominated the region as a second attack hit King Khalid International airport in Riyadh. The strike left One person dead and 11 others wounded. The incident occurred hours after Houthi-affiliated media reported a separate air strike on an airport in Sanaa, the Yemeni capital.

Maritime routes faced new disruptions as Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported that a third oil supertanker struck a naval mine in the Strait of Hormuz within the past 24 hours. The incident marks a sharp escalation in underwater threats to commercial traffic in the critical waterway.
